Koloocheh is the filled cookie of Lahijan, a tea town on Iran's Caspian coast. This is the coconut one — the sweetest of the three, and usually the one children reach for first.
Four cookies to a box, each one soft cardamom-scented dough sealed around a sweet coconut filling and stamped with the traditional pattern before baking. Chewier and more tropical than the nut fillings, and a little lighter — 170 calories a cookie against 185 for the walnut and pistachio.

Four months, with the expiry date printed on every box. Keep it in a cool, dry place and do not refrigerate — the cold hardens the dough and dulls the flavor. Once opened, reseal the wrap and finish within two to three weeks.

The label reads: contains wheat, egg and coconut, which US labeling treats as a tree nut. All of our flavors are baked on a single production line, so walnut, pistachio and coconut share equipment. There is no milk or dairy in any of them.
