Honey Bird Sweets was born from a simple dream: to bring the authentic taste of Lahijan koloocheh to Persian families and curious cookie lovers across the United States.

For more than five years, we've been carefully baking traditional Persian filled cookies — the same kind that has been made in Lahijan for generations — right here in America. Every box that arrives at your door is the result of an original family recipe, fresh ingredients, and a commitment to staying true to the way koloocheh is meant to taste.

The Heart of Lahijan

Lahijan is a small but legendary city in the Gilan province of Northern Iran, tucked between the Caspian Sea and the green Alborz mountains. It's a place known for its mist-covered tea gardens, gentle rain, and warm hospitality — and it's the birthplace of one of Iran's most beloved sweets: the koloocheh.

A koloocheh is more than a cookie. It's a soft, cardamom-infused pastry with a tender shell wrapped around a rich filling — walnut, pistachio, coconut, and beyond. For Iranians, it's the taste of childhood, summer trips to the Caspian shore ("darya"), grandmothers' kitchens, and afternoon tea shared with family.

Why We Started

When you live far from home, the foods you grew up with become more than just food — they become a way to feel connected. We started Honey Bird Sweets because we believed that no Iranian living in America should have to give up the taste of real Lahijan koloocheh, and that no American curious about Persian sweets should have to travel halfway across the world to try them.

So we built a small American kitchen with one big mission: bake every koloocheh the way it's been baked in Lahijan for generations, and ship it fresh to your door anywhere in the United States.
